Stamm Elementary houses 537 children in grades K-6. Our average homeroom size is 22 students. Stamm is on the north side of Fremont and is the largest elementary school in the city. The school is located in the middle of its population base and next to Harmon Field, the home of the Fremont Ross Little Giant football team. The building was built in three stages with the original building dedicated in 1920. There were additions in 1929 and 1962. Nearly 80% of Stamm's student body walks to school. We have a half-day kindergarten program, two developmentally handicapped units, and one learning disability unit. Our building houses a 24-unit computer lab that encourages student technology use. Parents are actively involved in our school as volunteers, with our PTO, and our Quality Improvement Council. Our Chili Supper on the evening of a home Ross football game is a Fremont tradition. The PTO is dedicated to supplementing the academic program at Stamm by providing financial support for technology, field trips, assemblies, extra supplies, and the sixth grade Camp Storer trip. This year a program involving senior citizens reading to second graders was continued and supplements our parent volunteer program. The faculty and staff of Stamm welcome visitors and alumni. Appointments for visits can be made by calling: (419) 332-5538.
