As Superintendent of Fremont City Schools, I am responsible for keeping a promise to every person in this city who values and respects education. That promise is to design an educational program that has carefully assessed the expectations of the Fremont community and the learning needs of every student. I welcome that responsibility.

Program design alone will not keep the promise. I must also assure that our schools effectively and efficiently deliver the design. Our outcomes must meet our goals - and both must reflect excellence in performance at all levels of our operation.

Educational leadership does not, however, rest in the hands of one person. I know well the value of working together in partnerships with all other parties that have both an interest in and a desire to have quality schools. None of us is as smart as all of us.

Therefore, beginning with diligent collaboration with the Board of Education and ultimately extending to the same collaboration with every group of stakeholders in our schools, I will serve to create an exemplary model of operational consistency, coordination and communication.

I encourage you to assist me in the work of the schools. I encourage you to become involved in that work and to answer the call for excellence in education. Together, we can achieve any dream that we choose to dream. Together, we can keep the promise.

Fremont is a proud city. It respects its history and its traditions. It also commits to growth and change. Most importantly, it values its children.
